Re-released episode from November 2025. I've been talking about personal branding on my Instagram, and something that I noticed is that your personal brand and your self-concept go hand in hand. And as Latinas, our self-concept can be all over the place. We were told to do all the things, get all the degrees, and be as successful as possible, but we were also told to be quiet and be humble. That doesn't make sense, does it?  Our self-concept dictates our entire lives - and nobody talks about it! Our self-concept decides if we are worthy of taking action, accepting incredible opportunities, and putting ourselves out there. I have a ton of clients who rejected their manifestations because they're self-concept was so low. But as a business owner, a content creator, or even just as a person, we cannot keep walking around with a low self-concept. We can change it for the better.  In this week's episode,  I want to talk to you about the difference between your personal brand and your self-concept, and how your self-concept is the direct reflection and the direct mirror of your life. You can have an amazing personal brand, attract incredible opportunities, and still feel like you're not worthy of what you've manifested. And as we talk through their feelings, I'm noticing that everyone is saying the same thing. This fear didn't come from them; someone told them to be afraid of being seen.  Now, it's not always in those words. But if you were being told that calladita te ves mas bonita as a kid, you're going to remember that during a brainstorming meeting at work and keep your ideas to yourself. And the blame for that is not necessarily on our parents - the blame is on the culture that perpetuates misogyny in our everyday lives. With 36 years of experience as a 911 dispatcher with the Buffalo Police Department, she brings a wealth of expertise in crisis management to her role. Judy has secured over $800,000 in federal funding to expand services for DV survivors in Buffalo - with which they hired additional advocates and produced enhanced, culturally relevant resources for clients. For a long time, no one was engaging with my content. I had a core group of followers and some friends and family, but I wasn't getting the kind of engagement I used to get. And honestly? Just a few months ago, I felt like giving up. I thought, "This is it! Time to throw in the towel and start looking for tech jobs again!" Social media can make us believe that everyone has it all figured out, except you. You are the lone exception to the rule, and you are the only one who is experiencing unexpected disasters. That is the furthest thing from the truth! Which is why I want to highlight this week's guest, who bounced back from an unexpected business disaster and was all the better for it.  After sailing across the Caribbean for 4 years, Andrea moved back to Miami, sold her e-commerce business, and bought a landscaping company with an SBA loan. Five days after closing, the previous owner stole $7,000 and disappeared. The manager quit and told all 12 employees to leave. Revenue dropped from $70K to $40K a month. With a toddler, a newborn, and a half-million dollars in debt, quitting was not an option. She and her husband rebuilt the business, working 80-hour weeks. When the workload became unsustainable, she taught herself AI from YouTube. Within weeks, AI was answering calls, booking appointments, collecting overdue payments, and sending post-service photos. Her husband went from getting home at 6 pm to 3 pm. Fridays became family days. They turned down a $750K buyout offer. As much as I'd love for something like the success of my business to stay consistent, it's just not going to happen. It's part of the human experience. Follower count does not mean much when it comes to making money online. Ok, it means a little bit. You can't sell if no one is around. My personal brand has been making money for me for YEARS. This wasn't an accident; this was completely by design. One of the things I've been working on with my clients is helping them figure out who they are outside of their careers. As Latina women living in the US, we often feel like our worth is dependent on what we do for work because we need it to be worth the trauma of immigration. This week, we're talking to someone who had to not only survive breast cancer, but figure out how to do life during and after treatment.     Eileen Lopez Tome is a resilient, compassionate, and bold first-generation Cuban-American woman, mom of five, breast cancer survivor, public servant, and certified professional coach. After being diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in 2016, she turned pain into purpose - becoming a certified coach in 2018 and dedicating her practice to guiding women through life's most defining transitions. Rooted in faith and fueled by love for her community, Eileen helps women - especially Hispanic and Latina women - release perfectionism, surrender control, and trust their own intuition. She believes healing is communal, cultural heritage is power, and legacy should be designed - not dictated by circumstance. Through coaching and advocacy, she helps women restore balance to their ecosystems - mind, body, spirit, family, and work - so they can live joyfully, creatively, and unapologetically.   In this week's episode, we're talking about how Eileen went from survival to service. In just a few short years, Eileen built a brand that helps others as a breast cancer survivor and is not only helping people survive during this period in their lives but also thrive.
