For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by the workings of the human brain, and the big questions like does the brain create consciousness and does our sense of self originate in the brain? That’s why I was excited to connect with this episode’s guest, neuropsychologist and author of No Self, No Doubt: How Neuropsychology Is Catching Up To Buddhism, Chris Niebauer. Chris’ work seamlessly blends spiritually and neuropsychology, showing us how advances in brain sciences are pointing us back toward age-old spiritual teachings. Trust me, you will not want to miss this episode!
Highlights:
**Chris shares his journey of awakening after a tragic loss, and how this experience transformed his work as a neuropsychologist.
**Chris shares how recent discoveries in neuroscience support ancient wisdom of Buddhist teachings.
** Chris explains why neuroscientists still cannot find the seat of the self in the human brain.
** We discuss the differences in how the right and left brain process information and why this matters to our sense of self and spirituality
** We discuss the process of spiritual evolution and awakening, and how to work with rather than fighting against the ego.
**Chris highlights the importance of using your mind, rather than letting the mind use you.

I just love doing intuitive readings on the show. So much guidance comes through in these readings, and I believe that we learn so much from each other’s stories and experiences. In this episode, Jenny asks for guidance on how to deepen her practice of surrender, as she takes on the challenge of selling all of her belongings, living nomadically and learning to let go of her Type A mentality.
Highlights:
**Surrender means that you let whatever is happening in the present moment be as it is without judgment or resistance.
**We can get so caught up in the continual push for “self improvement,” we can forget to celebrate all of the progress we have made.
**Change can be challenging at times and it is normal to fall back into old patterns. When old patterns appear, it is important not to judge yourself and just notice what you are experiencing. Treat these moments as opportunities for continued learning and growth.
**Life is ever evolving and you are allowed to change your mind. Every step is part of the journey and provides valuable information even if it doesn’t work out how you thought it would.
**Honor your journey and path, and try to let go of the need for other people to understand and validate your choices. Your value and worth comes from within and is best expressed by living purposefully and authentically.
**By focusing on what brings us joy, we can expand on that joy, and attract more joyful experiences into our lives.

What is consciousness? What is the relationship between the brain and our conscious awareness? For help answering these questions we turned to this episode’s guest, fellow podcaster and best selling author Mark Gober. In this episode, Mark shares his research on the mind/body problem, psychic experience, as well as the nuts and bolts of spiritual awakening.
Key takeaways:
**Mark shares his incredible journey from Silicon Valley executive to best selling spiritual author.
**What is the mind/body problem?
**Why consciousness is the fundamental aspect of reality, not the material and how our brains act as filters of conscious awareness, rather than as the creator of consciousness.
**We are here on earth to expand our level of consciousness. The ups and downs we go through in life are part of that greater evolutionary process.
**The awakening journey has overarching themes, but the specifics of how we experience the process is different for each of us.
**People can cling on to old paradigms and ways of understanding the world, because we are more comfortable with what is known and familiar.
**As you become more conscious and raise your vibration, it can initially be difficult to sustain. As you experience these elevated states more and more, it becomes easier and more natural to maintain a higher frequency.

Everything is energy, including our patterns of behavior in relationships. In this episode, we explore how and when it is possible to shift these energy patterns by “cutting cords” and releasing ourselves from “Soul Contracts.” We also explore some common misconceptions about how energy healing works, and what to look for in an energy healing practitioner.
Key takeaways:
** Energy healing works through intention. When we align with the intention to heal and to grow in our relationships, we naturally shift our energy.
**Cord cutting is an energetic way of setting an intention such as, ‘I am ready to let this person or situation go.’
**Energy healers can work with our energy, but they cannot override our own deepest wishes, desires and beliefs.
**You cannot release a relationship or behavior pattern until you have learned what you need to learn from the experience. Cutting cords only works when you are truly ready to let go.
**Wherever you are on your journey, you are exactly where you are supposed to be.
**You can’t solve a problem on the metaphysical level and skip the human part.
**True healing and growth always flows from within.

We have so much to learn from our animal friends, especially if we are willing to tune into what they are here to teach us. This episode of the Intuitive Connection podcast we are joined by animal communicator and author Nicole Birkholzer. Nicole’s unique approach to working with all animals is based on respect, deep listening, and ancient wisdom. I have had the privilege to work with Nicole and I am really excited to share her magic with the Intuitive Connection audience.
Key Takeaways:
-We can all have meaningful communication with our animals, we just need to learn how to listen.
-Our animals have information to share about their own well being, as well as how they can support us on our human journey.
-Our animal’s behavior can be a reflection of something we need to work on in our own lives.
-Animals live in the present moment.
-Do animals have past lives?

We all make mistakes, it’s an essential part of the human experience. Earth is an experiential realm where we learn by trial and error. Making mistakes is part of that learning process. In this episode we discuss how to make peace with our mistakes, so that we can move forward and not get stuck in the trap of regret.
Key takeaways:
-Mistakes are a natural part of life because here on Earth we learn through trial and error.
-Our human lens views "mistakes" differently than our soul's perspective.
-Our perception of mistakes is influenced by our early childhood experiences, and how we were taught to view our mistakes.
-Without the possibility of mistakes, there would be no room for expansion and growth.

We all make mistakes, it’s part of earth school. Sometimes those mistakes can negatively affect others, causing us to feel guilty. Guilt is a natural human emotion that signals when our actions may not be in accord with our highest purpose. Unfortunately, many of us struggle with guilt, even at times when it’s truly unwarranted. This week’s episode is all about finding our way through guilt, so that we can live with more ease, joy, peace as well as compassion for ourselves and others.
Key takeaways:
- What is guilt?
- Healthy vs unhealthy guilt
- How to honor your needs without feeling guilty
- Avoiding the trap of remorse
- The importance of following your own moral compass
- And more!

Do you believe in signs from the universe? This week’s guest, Fern Ronay, feels so strongly about signs that she created a podcast, and has authored two books on the topic. In this episode Fern shares her own personal experiences with signs, as well as some incredible sign stories from her podcast.
Key takeaways:
- Fern shares her own major personal experiences with signs and how they have given her faith that our deceased loved ones are still with us. She explains how we can even receive signs from passed loved ones who we never met. (4:00)
- Fern shares about how her deceased grandfather supports her from the other side by leaving her pennies. During one especially frustrating late night at her job, she opened a drawer looking for a lost stapler and discovered it was full of pennies! She took it as a message that everything was going to be alright and to ‘just keep going.’ To this day, whenever Fern needs to know ‘everything is going to be alright’ a penny appears, often in a surprising way. (6:00)
- Once you become aware of signs and are open to receiving them, they will start to appear more frequently. The important part is to tune into how you feel. You will have an inner knowing when something is truly a sign. (7:30)
- It can be easy at first to dismiss the appearance of a sign as “ just a coincidence.” But if you pay careful attention you may notice that signs will continue to present themselves until you finally have enough evidence to convince you that they are real.
- Victoria shares her experience of asking to receive a sign of dolphins and how they began to appear in various ways. (9:00)
- Signs can help us make sense of the confusing parts of human experience. For example, signs from our loved ones validate that they are still with us, even after they have left their physical bodies. (14:00)
- Fern shares a special story of one of her guests who received signs from her best friend’s husband who passed on 9/11. One time she was driving on the highway with the top down and smelled his cigar smoke. Then she felt like he was speaking to her. Finally, She got out of her car to go into the DMV and was handed the number 911 as her ticket to be helped. At that moment, she knew for sure he was with her. (14:30)
- Fern and I discuss her writing process. There is no right or wrong way to write or create, it is what resonates and works best for you. For example, some writers fly by the seat of their pants and work it out later while others are planners and like outlines and everything organized before writing. (23:30)

Are you in the habit of comparing yourself to others? Comparison is one of those common habits of mind that we all fall prey to now and again. And it can cause so much unnecessary suffering! In this episode we discuss strategies to combat the trap of comparison so we can live with more ease, joy and grace.
- We compare because the egoic mind gets its sense of value through individualization and the sense of being lesser or better than someone else. Comparison does not make sense in the bigger picture because we are all unique individuals on our own paths, so we will always be comparing apples to oranges. (4:30)
- As we learn to embrace our uniqueness and individuality while also understanding that we are all connected, we will naturally find more peace, love and joy in our lives. (8:00)
- Comparison is a habit and the first step to shifting this is to begin to notice where, how and why it is showing up in your life. We have the ability to change the story around what is triggering us. The important thing is to not judge what comes up and sit with our feelings because when we resist, we give those thoughts and feelings even more energy. (13:30)
- We can honor the gifts in ourselves and others without comparing at all. For example, we can say ‘wow that person is a beautiful dancer’ without adding ‘and I am such a clutz.’ (17:30)

Have you ever wondered what it's like to be a celebrity? Are their lives completely charmed, or do they have the same kinds of problems as the rest of us?" Joining us today on the podcast is celebrity psychic, Laura Michelle Powers. Laura has been featured on many podcasts, magazines, and media outlets. She is also a podcast host, author, actress, creative entrepreneur, and much more. Laura uses her experience connecting with the angelic realm with angels, spirits, and other energy beings to help her clients better understand and change their life. I am excited to share her wisdom with you!
Key takeaways:
- At the end of the day, celebrities are human beings, just like you and me. They have struggles and things they are working on. Laura shares that a lot of the themes that come up in her sessions are the same no matter who the client is. (3:30)
- A lot of creatives tend to be very intuitive and empathic and because of that, energetic boundaries are a common issue, especially for those in the spotlight. (4:30)
- When people are following the path of their intuition, it's the little baby steps that are important. In the beginning of the journey, you don't have the information or the awareness yet to see the whole picture of your soul. (14:00)
- Whether we recognize it or not, the creative process is often informed by channeling and tapping into our intuition, our guides, the energies of the universe and/or our past lives. (21:00)
- We are all powerful creators. The act of writing down our ideas and desires, helps to manifest them into reality. When we give voice to our feelings, it can help us begin to shift and transform on our healing journey. (24:00)
- Creativity is expressing the magic of your soul. Although mostly associated with the arts, creativity comes in so many forms from organizing, inventing, entrepreneurship, problem-solving and so much more. (29:00)

Have you ever been so absorbed in what you are doing that you lose track of space and time and are simply swept away in the current of your own creativity? This is the experience of being in the creative flow. In this episode, we discuss how to get into your creative flow and some of the ways in which we can get stuck.
- Flow is our natural state. But when we get stuck in our minds and start trying to figure everything out, we can become disconnected from the deep flow of our creativity and life. (1:00)
- In order to align with the great flow of life and creative force, we have to learn to let go and align with our highest self and create from that place. Letting go of the ‘shoulds’ and the idea ‘this has to be perfect is key. (5:00)
- Joy is a big part of the creative process. Society often teaches us to block the joy that is naturally within us. Watching children and animals play is a great example of how to just be in joy. (8:30)
- The purpose is about sharing the gifts of your soul and expressing your true nature while here in human form. It is not necessarily what we achieve in the outside world. (11:00)
- A great exercise to help get into the flow is to “brain dump” and write for five or so minutes allowing whatever wants to come through without editing. (15:00)
- Some other ways to get into the flow include: Dancing to your favorite music and just allowing your body to move whatever way it wants, and painting without having a plan or specific intention other than to just let the brush move where it wants to go. (18:00)
- We are creating all the time and learn from the process whether we like the final result or not. (20:00
In this episode, I am excited to share the magic of Kate Winch, who I had the opportunity of working with at a workshop I attended several years ago. Kate Winch is a transformational speaker, EFT expert, Qoya dance teacher, and intuitive counselor. Join us as she shares her journey and all about EFT (tapping) with us.
Key takeaways from this episode:
- Negative emotions get stored in the body creating a disruption in our energy systems. Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), aka “tapping,” works with the energy meridians allowing us to remove stuck energy and get the energy flowing again.
- Tapping is a simple and accessible technique that is really empowering because anyone can learn to do it. You simply tap on a series of meridian points, while repeating key phrases: starting with what you would like to release and ending with what you would like to experience instead.
- Tapping allows us to honor our feelings and love and accept ourselves exactly as we are without judgment. Tapping is also a quick and effective way to calm yourself down when triggered.
- Matrix Reimprinting is a deeper level of EFT that works with the energy of the inner child to help resolve childhood wounds and replace them with adult wisdom.
- Unresolved issues will bring up feelings of anxiety or tension in the body. When a past issue or trauma has been resolved, the memory will no longer trigger a strong emotional response.
- Kate leads us through a quick round of tapping. link below to some tapping video resources from Kate.

You are not your mind. Yet, so many of us on this human journey, get so lost in the illusion of mind that we forget that we are more than the habitual chatter of our mind. As someone who literally got a PhD studying the mind, disidentifying with the mind has been an interesting and sometimes challenging journey. In this episode, we explore the limits of mind, and how to lose your mind without growing crazy.
- The mind is a beautiful gift and a part of the human experience. The key is to be able to integrate and work with the energy of the mind without fully identifying with it.
- We develop our minds over time through interactions, experiences and beliefs systems we learn from family, community, and era we are living in. The mind allows us to navigate our human experience, but we want to make sure we don’t get lost in that and forget that we are a spirit having a human experience.
- When we have a spiritual awakening, we begin to have awareness that we are not the contents of our mind and bring in more of our spiritual self. As we awaken, it’s important to stay grounded and be able to still function in the human world.
- Working with the energy of the mind means recognizing that we are the observer of our thoughts and not the thoughts themselves.
- Ways we learn to disidentify with the mind include: meditation, becoming familiar and aware of your mind and the stories that are playing, and taking time to do things that allow your mind to go soft.

Are you a chronic complainer? That was me, years ago, before I learned how to free myself from the habit of finding fault with the present moment. In this episode, we discuss how to let go of complaining and learn to make peace with what is.
- Many of us are addicted to complaining and finding fault with the present moment. This can lower our vibration and keep us from experiencing the joy of the present moment. (2:00)
- The first step to breaking any habit is to become aware of when you are doing it. It’s important not to judge yourself or your behaviors, but rather to simply notice where you are complaining and gently shift to more empowering thoughts. (4:30)
- There is a difference between complaining and feeling your feelings. The complaint is finding fault with the present moment and typically about trying to control. When we complain, we disempower ourselves. (6:30)
- A complaint is a trick of the mind that separates us from the magic of the present moment. Practicing mindful awareness will help us to begin to break the habit of complaining. We can’t control the habitual workings of the mind but we can stop feeding the voice of complaint and focusing our attention elsewhere. (11:00)
- It is natural and normal to have preferences. And there will always be circumstances that we prefer over others. Complaint, only comes in, when we begin to focus on how the situation “should” be, rather than how it is. (14:30)

In this episode, I am joined by Julie Grimm who is a guide and healer in the Lineage of King Salomon. I met Julie a while ago when I was on her podcast and as we were wrapping up I received a little tap on the shoulder from my guides and knew I had to share her wisdom with the Intuitive Connection audience.
Key takeaways:
- Our intuition can be experienced as those little taps that are leading us to this perfect path that we didn’t even know existed. That’s part of the daily magic we can experience.
- Julie shares about having shut down her intuition, not believing in magic, and living boxed in until she had a powerful spiritual awakening in India when all of her plans got tossed away.
- We look to science to help us understand these deep questions of life and unfortunately, the current model is split from spirituality. This can leave us feeling like something is missing. Thousands of years ago, spirituality and science were not separate. King Salomon was what we would call today a metaphysician.
- King Salomon wanted to make sure all the wisdom and knowledge from all over the world was protected and not forgotten for thousands of years and created a mystery school. Prior to his reign, mystical teachings were only transmitted by word of mouth.
- Julie explains that after her initial awakening, she had the feeling of, “oh what do I do now?” The mystery school is a highly structured system that helps facilitate spiritual growth and awakening. This allowed Julie to continue to flourish with support.
- You have to have an open heart and be willing to see the mysteries of the universe in order to receive answers. The tools of the mystery school are meditation, prayer, and ritual.

When we need support on our journey it is important to find spiritual teachers, healers, and practitioners that support and guide us in the best way possible. Finding our support team is key and there are a few things to keep in mind when looking for guidance.
Takeaways from this episode:
- Everyone needs support in their lives, especially when going through challenging times, periods of growth and evolution, or a spiritual awakening. The first thing to consider when looking for a teacher, healer, therapist, etc. is someone you feel a positive and uplifting resonance with.
- You want to work with someone who can recognize when emotional baggage is getting stirred up or a healing crisis is occurring and lovingly support you when that happens.
- A good healer or teacher will make you feel empowered and help you to tap into your own inner wisdom and awaken the answers from within. They can help you see clearly when things are foggy.
- Look for a teacher or healer you feel gets you and you get them. As you evolve, you may find that different teachings, teachers, and healers resonate more than others. Sometimes we outgrow what we originally needed.
- The biggest way our teachers, healers, and helpers touch our lives is through their presence, energy, awareness, vibration, and by holding space for us in their loving kindness and unconditional hearts.
Have you ever wondered why you are drawn to certain colors or what they mean? Joining us to talk about the energy of colors is Mara Marchesi, The Intuition Queen. Mara is an intuitive and creative coach, healer and speaker who is passionate about helping women find their inner power.
Key takeaways:
- Limiting beliefs and fears can block us from creating the life and a career we love. Color therapy can help release stuck emotions and allow us to work through what is blocking us. (2:45)
- Mara explains that she was intuitive as a child, naturally creative and always drawn to, and passionate about bright bold colors which made her happy. (4:00)
- Colors affect all of us in some way. We have four different colors that are specific to us. Mara explains that she is able to figure out these colors based on your birthday. Knowing these colors is helpful for healing and if you are a business, for branding. Each color has positive and negative energy associated with it in addition to a connection to the chakras. (5:00)
- Mara shares that when she does readings, one of the four colors she sees for a person is always their favorite color. When you know your colors, you have the ability to work with them. For example, if one of your colors is green, you might want to wear it to a job interview. (11:00)
- Everyone has their own unique way to work with and hear their intuition. When you are learning to trust your intuition, a great way to start is by taking small steps, starting to follow those nudges, stepping a bit outside of your comfort zone so you can begin to build your confidence and start to follow your joy. This week we have another guest joining us for intuitive reading! Lorie is seeking guidance on a time of transition, relationships that are shifting, and not sharing her voice as much as she would like. I am excited to share the guidance that came through.
Key takeaways:
- Many human beings on Earth are in a time of great change and growth. Victoria shares that Lorie has been experiencing this for the last twenty years and it was like a very slow climb to the top of a mountain and when we finally get that bigger perspective and awareness it can feel very sudden.
- When family and friends are at a different level of awareness than us, it can feel lonely at times. As you continue on your journey, you will find kindred souls.
- Speaking your truth is about honoring your own perspective and allowing the deeper wisdom of your soul to guide your self-expression. When you really let go and speak your truth that is aligned with your highest consciousness, purpose and creative expression, you will attract the people that are ready to hear what you have to say.
- During this journey, you may have feelings of loneliness or loss come up. If that happens, you may want to check in with your inner child and see if they are feeling unsafe or feeling lonely. If yes, it is a beautiful opportunity to check in with your inner child and see what they need.
- Suppressed feelings such as anger, are just energy that wants to move. If you discover that, honor it and begin to release and move that energy in a way that works best for you.
- If you have challenging relationships in your life, it is important to remember that we need to take care of ourselves first in order to help others. Learning to set boundaries is key, especially for those who are empathic.

I often use improv as a metaphor for life. Our souls plan the themes, main characters, pivotal events, and then it is up to us and our free will to work on the details impromptu. This week’s guest, Pam Victor, turns this around by teaching us how to use improv to improve our lives.
Pam is a professional improviser, a teacher and founder of Happier Valley Comedy, an author, and a happiness coach.
Key takeaways from this episode:
- Pam shares her stories of becoming a professional improviser by following her intuition and going on a year-long journey and experiment to see if she could make a living doing what she loved. (2:00)
- Following your intuition is about listening to the clues that pull you towards something that excites you. Sometimes it means being scared and doing the things anyway. (5:00)
- Improv is the gym for our soul by allowing us to get on stage and practice acceptance, paying attention, fighting the inner critic over and over and over again because we are all beginners. (11:00)
- Pam shares how her purpose is to facilitate laughter, joy, and connections which she normally does through improv but 2020. She continued her mission by developing the Happiness Experiment to incorporate tiny daily habits for thirty days. (12:30)
- How we use our intuition in our daily lives can show up differently for everyone. Pam shares that she uses her intuition throughout the day to check in by asking ‘what do I need at this moment and how can I be of service.’ (25:00)
- Pam wants to encourage everyone to honor your YOU-ness, the thing that makes you you and your authentic voice. (30:00)

So often in spiritual circles, we hear things like “you chose your parents” or “you choose your experiences.” But, of course, we all experience things that don’t seem like we would have chosen them. In this episode, we explore the topic of choice, where it can be a challenging concept, and the difference between choosing as a human and a spirit.
Key takeaways from this episode:
- In spiritual teachings, we hear about having a choice when it can feel like you don’t. There is a difference between making choices consciously and unconsciously and a lot of times we don’t even realize we are making decisions from an unconscious place. (1:30)
- Choice is really about learning how to take the reins away from the unconscious mind and become increasingly more aware and conscious of how we are creating our reality. (3:20)
- Consciousness is your field of awareness in which all things occur. This includes your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. In the highest sense you are also aware and fully connected to your highest and truest spiritual self. (5:46)
- It’s ok if our human selves don’t always like the spiritual choices that our souls have made. For example, spiritually speaking, we choose our parents to learn lessons and to evolve. When we are teenagers and are annoyed or angry with our parents, that choice may not feel good at the moment. (11:33)
- Before we were born, our higher self and spirit guides worked together to choose most of the milestone moments in our lives which your human self may not be completely on board with. When we can accept that we are not just human and there is a bigger plan serving us, we can be in a space of co-creating. (13:01)
Do the teachings around ego confuse you? Joining me on the podcast is Julia Wesley, an Akashic record reader and soul blueprint healer who focuses on helping others heal the relationship with themselves. In this episode, we focus on the ego, its purpose, and the value of befriending rather than trying to defeat our egos.
Key takeaways:
- In a lot of spiritual teaching, the ego is perceived as “bad” and something that needs to be destroyed, but in reality, our egos serve a purpose and can act as a guide map for us in our lives. (1:47)
- Most people try to ignore and/or push away their pain, and as a result, wind up identifying with it. Instead, we can shift to understand that pain is feedback. The goal is to sit with it and listen to what it is communicating with us. (4:00)
- We don’t transcend the ego by defeating it or letting it go. We transcend by integrating our egos with our higher consciousness because our humanness is part of the journey. (6:45)
- The Akashic records are an energetic recording of all the different experiences our soul is having. One of the greatest benefits of accessing your Akashic Records is how it attunes you to your own soul's frequency. You can remember your true agenda as a soul and see solutions to current issues in your life in a higher and more evolved way. (13:17)
- We typically associate ego with heaviness and feeling uncomfortable, but it doesn’t have to be that way. You can use your ego to help you identify the things you love, and this playfulness can help us transform our relationship with our egos, so we want to engage and nurture the ego. (33:00)
- When you are able to tune into what your soul really wants for you and you are able to surrender to that, amazing and magical things will begin to unfold. The biggest thing usually getting in the way is yourself. (19:38)
- Every experience in life is an opportunity if we are willing to be present, aware, and not judge. (25:24)

We hear a lot in popular media about ill-fated relationships between empaths and narcissists. Empaths being, loving and compassionate souls with sometimes questionable boundaries. And narcissists being the self-absorbed, villains that take advantage of the empath’s kindness. In this episode, I am going to clarify some common misconceptions about the empath/narcissist dynamic and how we all learn to navigate our relationships with more love, insight, and awareness.
- Empaths are loving, kind, compassionate souls who feel the feels of others like it's happening to them. Empaths sometimes have difficulty with personal boundaries because they can so easily take on other people’s perspectives, thoughts, and emotions. (1:00)
- Narcissists are highly manipulative, self-absorbed individuals, who are only concerned with getting their own needs met in relationships and think of others as means to that end. Narcissism runs the spectrum from being slightly more concerned with yourself than others, to a full-blown personality disorder. But most people occasionally exhibit some narcissistic tendencies (3:00)
- Empaths can be drawn into relationships with narcissists for many reasons. One reason could be that they grew up in a household with a narcissistic parent or sibling and did not learn to set boundaries. Another reason can be that they have very big hearts, see the good in everyone. (5:00)
- We all have the ability to release ourselves from these patterns. If you find yourself in an abusive relationship, be kind to yourself and relationships and challenges serve a purpose in terms of our personal and spiritual growth. (7:00)
- To complicate matters, some folks with narcissistic tendencies may still have the ability to sense other people’s thoughts and feelings, and will use that information to upset and hurt you. (8:00)
- Remember, we all have narcissistic tendencies, including empaths because we are human and we all have an ego. We can all have moments when we get stuck in our own perspective and can’t see past our own needs. This does not mean you or everyone is a narcissist. That term is thrown around often, out of context, and misused. (10:00)

Do you struggle with self-sabotage? In this episode, our guest Joanne, came for a reading to address a life-long pattern of self-sabotage. I am excited to share the guidance that came through and shine some light on an issue that I know so many people struggle with.
Key takeaways from this episode:
- We have a tendency to beat ourselves up over our “undesirable behaviors,” but everything in life ultimately serves a purpose. When we begin to understand how these behaviors have been serving us, we can make peace with all parts of ourselves and discover new, more effective ways to get our needs met. (1:30)
- Sometimes certain behaviors and patterns run through our family lines. We may learn these behaviors through modeling and/or pick them up energetically. As we heal these patterns in ourselves, we have the opportunity to affect everyone in our family line, in both the past and future (4:46)
- When exploring the purpose of your behaviors it’s important to be kind to yourself. You can have a dialogue with these “parts” of yourself, and ask them how they are serving you. For extra support, you can also complete this process with a trusted helper, coach, or therapist. (13:42)
- It’s important to focus on the positive things in our lives, and what is working rather than all the things we perceive that are not. Be mindful of your wording. If “but” statements start to creep in, return to focusing on only the positive. (15:29)
- Making peace with our shadow sides is key. What we resist, persists. We are all imperfect beings and the more we can embrace our imperfections, the easier it is to find our way through them to a higher and more aligned way of being. (17:00)

Do you believe that you should master your mind? So many new age and personal development teachings promote the idea that you should be in control of your thoughts. But anyone who has ever sat for even a few minutes in meditation knows how crazy difficult this can be!
In this episode we explore the deeper trues around the idea of mastering the mind, as well as some steps you can take to cultivate presence.
- Mastering our minds is really about becoming present and having awareness of the contents of our minds. It is not about controlling or suppressing our thoughts, but creating space between our awareness and the habitual chatter of the mind (1:00)
- Thoughts are happening all of the time, including both high and low vibration ones. These thoughts are not who we are. Rather than trying to suppress or control our thoughts, we can learn to meet them with loving awareness. (3:00)
- As we become more present, we can choose where to focus our energy and attention.
- Meditation is one way to help to cultivate presence and quiet the mind. Other helpful practices include being in nature, repetitive exercise. (5:00)
- The space between our thoughts is where intuition comes from. This is the space where we connect with our true power, wisdom, and higher self. (10:00)
- There are three steps you can take to make peace with your mind: 1. Recognize that you are not your thoughts; (2) Experience yourself as the awareness of space between thoughts; (3) Become more familiar with the landscape of our mind so you can recognize and gradually release habitual thought patterns.
- Over time we can gently and gradually learn to give our energy and attention only to that which raises your vibration and aligns with our highest and truest selves. (20:00)

We have a special guest joining us for this episode, Dr. Ellen Albertson is otherwise known as The Midlife Whisperer. Ellen is a reiki master, psychologist, registered dietician, natural board-certified health and wellness coach, and a mindful self-compassion teacher. She helps women change their trajectory so they can experience joy, confidence, and radiant health on a daily basis. I am excited to share her wisdom with everyone.
- Midlife can be a very powerful time of transformation and an opportunity to wake up and discover the real authentic you. It’s time to change the narrative around menopause and view it as a beautiful right of passage rather than a downhill slide into oblivion. (2:00)
- In midlife, as in all phases of life, self-care and compassion is essential to our well-being. Ellen emphasizes that self-compassion is like a muscle and in order for it to get stronger we have to actively work on strengthening it.
- An easy way to cultivate self-compassion is to treat yourself the way you would treat a good friend. An exercise to begin to practice self-compassion is to imagine if a good friend were in a situation, what would you say or do to support them? (10:00)
- The three key elements to self-compassion are: 1. Being kind to yourself rather than judgemental. 2. Embracing our common humanity and understanding that everyone goes through suffering and we are all imperfect. 3. Mindfulness practices such as pausing to notice when you are feeling stressed and instead of beating yourself up, asking yourself what do I need right now. (15:00)
- Ellen shares that she hears her intuition as a small quiet voice when she is listening as well as receiving messages and signs from the outside world, like animal messengers. She believes that when we aren’t listening to our hearts and listening to ourselves, we can’t connect to our intuitive knowing. (20:00)

In this episode, our guest Janalee is seeking guidance about having very vivid dreams and waking feeling not well-rested. We learn that Janalee is a birth doula who feels that she is always on call during the day and cannot wind down during the night. We discuss the importance of setting boundaries with both her clients and her intuitive guidance. And how this will help her to use her intuitive gifts more intentionally and without becoming overwhelmed.
- Janalee shares that she has super vivid dreams every night, and she feels like she’s spending the whole night running instead of resting. Although she considers these dreams to be a gift, she is feeling overwhelmed and exhausted (1:00)
- I immediately picked up frenetic energy around Janalee and wondered if she is carrying that energy with her to sleep. We can look at our dreams for clues about what our dreams are mirroring in our lives. (2:40)
- Janalee comments that she has a hard time turning off because she feels like she is always on call as a labor support doula. This causes her to be in constant flight fight mode, and she can never calm down and catch a break.
- It appears that dreaming is a way that Janalee receives intuitive information for herself and for clients. This is a gift she has had through many lifetimes. The challenge for Janalee is to learn to work with this gift more intentionally and know when to power down to replenish. (5:00)
- When developing one’s intuition, it is important to find the class or guidance that is the right fit for you. Sometimes part of the intuition journey is actually learning to power down, slow down, calm down and get more intentional so you can really tune into the messages that need to come through and let the rest go. (15:00)
- Being empathic is also a gift that is often misunderstood, and one needs to learn how to work with it. The key with this gift is learning to set energetic boundaries and understanding that just because we can feel it doesn't mean it’s our job to heal it. (20:00)

It took me some time to find the perfect guest to teach us about intuitive eating. I am so excited to share the story and wisdom of Alissa Rumsey, MS, RD, CDN, CSCS. Alissa is a Nutrition Therapist and Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor who specializes in intuitive eating, body acceptance, and recovery from chronic dieting and disordered eating. Her philosophy is rooted in the Health at Every Size (HAES®) approach, and she believes that true health comes from nurturing behaviors to enhance physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing – not by following external food rules or a number on the scale.
- Alissa shares her experiences with dieting in high school and how her conviction that she was the ‘healthy one’ led to her decision to become a dietician. It was during her internship at an NYC hospital, that she observed the healthy relationship that her colleagues had with food and realized that she had a disordered relationship with food. Everything changed when she stumbled upon a course in intuitive eating.
- Alissa explains that intuitive eating is all about getting to know our body’s signals for when we are actually hungry and how much to eat. Babies and children do this naturally: Babies will cry when they are hungry, stop when they are full, and the cycle continues. Young children, if they have easy and constant access to food will also eat when and how much they want on their own.
- Our ability to trust our intuition tends to diminish as we grow older and internalize society’s rules about what and how we “should” eat. We also observe the dieting and eating habits of our parents and then as teenagers and adults, we are influenced by society, diet culture, and advertising. We are told that some foods are “good” and some foods are “bad” and that our bodies should look a certain way.
- We talk about experiences with practitioners and how it is important not to put doctors, dieticians, etc on a pedestal because bias can exist in the current healthcare system. People tend to have ideas that the size of a person means they are or are not healthy.
- We talk about the misconceptions around intuitive eating. For example, we think if we just listen to our body it will just want cupcakes. Alissa explains that the process of intuitive eating takes time to be able to connect to the body’s signals and see feeding yourself as self-care.
- Alissa explains how food can be a powerful entry point into exploring more about ourselves, our beliefs, thoughts, feelings, and developing a deeper relationship and trust with our intuition.
- Alissa shares that she experiences her intuition as a gut instinct, like the initial instinct before the brain starts thinking and analyzing. If the “should” voice comes in, recognizing that’s not coming from a place of intuition.

This week we are celebrating the one-year anniversary of the Intuitive Connection Podcast! I am so grateful to all of our listeners and guests and I am excited to continue this journey with you. In this episode, we explore how the podcast came to be, and how creating the podcast is just one of the many gifts I have received through following my inner guidance.
- Like many things in my life, the decision to launch the podcast was 100 percent intuitively guided. I originally planned to start writing a book, but my guides had another plan. The truth is, podcasts were not on my radar at all!
- I took a weekend off by the beach, to start writing. When nothing was flowing on paper, I was guided to walk on the beach with a voice recorder. I assumed that I would transcribe my notes later. But when I went to write again and nothing was happening, I realized I was being called to share by speaking, and the idea of the podcast was born.
- I set out to learn basic things about equipment and began to record episodes. So many topics easily began to flow. It was so easy and joyful! I find this is often the case when I follow my intuition.
- I was taking a class with Tosha Silver and she suggested the March new moon was a great time to start new projects, so I launched episode one on that date. I had no idea my launch date would coincide with the beginning of quarantine in the US, or that both myself and many of my listeners would be stuck at home listening.
- My intention is to as you listen to the episodes, you become more in touch with the wisdom, energy, light, and magnificence of your soul. Of course, the words are important, but it’s an inner experience that truly matters. I hope these episodes have inspired you as much as they inspire me!
- The podcast has truly been a joy to create. I have been able to share my guidance and connect with people all over the world through our audience as well as the amazing guests I have had the opportunity to interview. I am so grateful to all our listeners and guests.

In this episode, we have another intuitive reading with our guest Susan! Susan reached out for guidance in navigating a new relationship after the passing of her husband 3 years ago. We touched on a number of topics including soul life planning and how we use challenges in life for our own growth and development.
- Our souls plan the major touchstone moments in our lifetime, including the death of a loved one, before we are born. In Susan’s case, both Paul and her souls knew that would probably not be together for an entire lifespan.
- Souls can support one another even after one has left their physical body. Paul’s spirit shared that he feels he can support Susan better from the other side. Even though no one really leaves before their time, we still experience grief, hurt, and anger and it’s important to honor our feelings. Our deceased loved ones are often nearby to support us in processing the grief surrounding the loss.
- It is OK to move forward after a loss and to recognize that new adventures, experiences, and relationships will not change or diminish the love that came before. Instead, we can use the love that we experienced with our previous relationships as the springboard for moving forward.
- Our relationships usually present opportunities for us to grow and evolve. They often serve as a catalyst for uncovering and healing our childhood wounds. Sometimes it’s a chance to accept and meet people where they are. For some people, it may present as an opportunity to put healthy boundaries in place.
When listening to intuitive guidance for someone else, see what insights and wisdom resonate for you.
Joining us on the podcast is a very special guest, Tabytha Polaris. Tabytha is a singing light warrior who creates high frequency music and channeled meditations, a Reiki Master, intuitive empathic energy healer, and so much more. Together we explore intuition, being empathic, the creative process, and the exciting transformation happening on our planet right now.
- Tabytha shares about how she experiences her intuition. As a child, she was sensitive and could feel what everyone else was feeling. She thought someone was wrong with her. It wasn’t until later in life when she understood that her empathy was an intuitive gift, one of the first of many that developed as she opened herself up to them. (1:42)
- Tabytha shares that while growing up, whatever she needed on her spiritual path would just appear, like an oracles deck, a yoga class, a metaphysical tool, or an energy healer. (5:00)
- We discuss our experiences as empaths at the height of the pandemic, and some of the things that we have learned about ourselves and our lives through that experience.
- Tabytha shares her creative process and how she receives ideas. When the world slowed down, she was able to create and bring her ideas to life. She ended up channeling a meditation album to balance the chakras. (15:00)
- Tabytha shares how she followed her intuition and having to get out of self doubt, letting go of control, and collaborating with others in order to bring these healing mediations to the world. (19:31)
- Tabytha leaves us with the idea to just keep breathing, follow your joy, and trust the universe. (30:00)

We are constantly receiving messages from the outside world from advertising, social media, businesses, the news, and friends and family about ourselves and our own inherent worthiness. Unfortunately, most of these messages are rooted in scarcity and fear, leaving us to believe that we are not enough.
In this episode we explore how we become more aware of these potentially damaging messages, and tell ourselves more empowering stories. The truth is, you are enough.
Some key points:
- Most of the messaging we get from advertising, social media and even sometimes our friends and loved ones is based in fear and scarcity. (1:21)
- Advertisers have been taught to sell by telling us that we are broken or wrong, and that only their product can fix us. (10:00)
- For many of us, these messages become internalized and we start to believe that we are not enough. (6:40)
- We can shift our perspective by becoming more aware of the messages we receive both internally and externally, and shifting our own internal dialog to one that is more positive and empowering. (8:06)
- When seeking support, look for people who empower you, rather than those who treat you as a problem to be fixed. (4:03)
- Spreading the message of love and abundance will make the world a better place. (13:01)

Join us for an intuitive reading with our guest Cindy who is contemplating retirement and curious about past lives. Remember, even though this reading and guidance is for Cindy, there is much wisdom to be gained. As you listen in, see what information resonates for you.
When we have decisions to make whether it’s contemplating retirement or really any decision, we want to avoid limiting our possibilities by thinking and believing it has to be this (retirement) or that choice (not retiring). When we let go of the how and tune into what our spirit wants and what brings us joy, we discover the full range of opportunities and options available to us.
It can be helpful to identify any beliefs that might be holding as we are making decisions. For example, if you are thinking about retiring, but you are holding onto a belief like ‘only I can do this job’ or ‘I will be letting people down’, you may get distracted from choosing what feels right for you on a deeper, intuitive level.
The outside world can serve as a great mirror for what we need to learn, how we need to grow, and what the world wants us to discover within ourselves even when it feels challenging. The more we can start to find our voice, our way and our own inherent goodness, even when the world does not mirror that back for us, the more we are walking the talk of what our spirits are here to do.
As we develop and grow spiritually, we start to recognize the world is just the stage we set to unfold the experiences for our highest growth and development.
Exploring our past lifetimes can be helpful in understanding the lessons our soul wants to learn in this lifetime. Cindy discovered a past life where she had experienced circumstances quite similar to those she is facing in her present lifetime. Our souls choose to experience the same lesson in different lifetimes, because those different perspectives are how we learn and grow.
Remember, we are here to experience joy in life and it becomes easier when we can tune into what our soul truly desires.

Joining us on the podcast to share her wisdom is Krista Resnick.
Krista is an empowerment coach, spiritual teacher, and leadership expert. She helps women develop a high-quality relationship with themselves by uncovering their purpose and being an expression of that each and every day. Krista teaches women how to live with courage, clarity, and conviction by leaning into who they really are, what they want, and how they're going to get it.
Here are some key takeaways from our conversation:
- Self-care is about activities that nourish our souls and bring us joy. Although things like massages or relaxing in the bathtub can be great, if we don’t do the internal work, we will go right back to being stressed.
- There are many ways to listen to our souls. Krista explains that most of us live in a frenetic energy space with today’s go go go mentality. We need to calm our nervous systems to help get out of the frenzy mode and be able to tune in and start to notice what’s going on on a deeper level.
- Breathwork is a great place to start learning to calm your nervous system. Krista mentions Box breathing and the 4-7-8 breath as her go-to breathing techniques.
- Krista shares her own story of living in a ton of frenetic energy; always trying to prove herself, being a people pleaser, and being a bit of a perfectionist. One day, she had a massive realization and shift when her toddler misinterpreted and internalized her challenging day as ‘mommy, why don’t you like me.’ Our children can be our greatest teachers. Krista now has a beautiful relationship with her now-adult son thanks to that teaching moment and turning point many years ago.
- Refraining from judgment and having compassion is an important part of self-care but can be challenging because society has taught us to beat ourselves up. One of the best ways we can start to practice compassion for ourselves is by paying attention to our self-talk and inner critic. This allows us to identify patterns and stories and be able to do the inner healing work.
- We talk about how an action is important but if you take action based on core wounded beliefs, you can create more problems. It is our responsibility as humans to go back and heal from those wounds that were created in childhood.
- The best way to teach kids self-compassion is by example because they are little sponges and watch everything that we do. There are so many ways we can show our children self-compassion and self-love, something even as simple as taking a compliment is impactful.
- Krista believes that self-care can be difficult for people because it is not tangible, especially for high achievers. You don’t get a trophy or diploma for self-care. We need to look at what stories we tell ourselves about self-care like self-care is a waste of time, I can operate on empty, etc.
- Krista suggests changing the word ‘failure’ to ‘feedback’ because words and the energy behind them have meaning.

This episode is all about self-care and the value and importance of taking care of yourself. Self-care is really about learning to tune into your needs and desires and to discover what truly brings you joy. We also discuss some common confusions surrounding self-care, and some steps you can take to move forward in the amazing art of caring for yourself.
- Self-care is about honoring your needs. In order to do this, we need to learn to listen to those deeper longings rather than just doing what we think we are supposed to do.
- Self-care can look like anything from getting out in nature, getting a massage, taking a class, or spending some time doing nothing. What we desire can change from day to day and moment to moment. So the key is learning to listen.
- Many of us have been taught that being a “good person” means putting everyone else’s needs ahead of our own. When we consistently put our needs last, it can lead to resentment, illness, or burnout. When we truly and completely know how to honor and love ourselves, we create a beautiful flow of unconditional love, light, wisdom, and guidance that shines towards others.
- Messages we received in childhood can sometimes create resistance to caring for ourselves as adults. Take some time to sit with your inner child, listen to what they have to say, and let them know it’s OK and that they are safe to express and address their own needs and desires.
- We can learn to listen to our needs by taking a few minutes every day to tune in. You can place your hands on your belly and ask yourself ‘is there anything you’ve been wanting to do or experience that you’ve been shutting down.’ Ask yourself for a small or big action step to help satisfy those deeper longings. You might receive an image, a word, you may get the answer later in the day when you aren’t thinking about it. The important thing is to start getting into this habit and start to tune in developing a whole new relationship with yourself.
- On a spiritual level, we are all interconnected. When we learn to care for ourselves, we are spreading the love to others as well.

In this episode, we have another amazing guest, Rebecca Shisler Marshall. Rebecca is a Ph.D., an integrative wellness expert and shamanic practitioner, and an associate professor at the University of Georgia. I invited Rebecca on the podcast because I was so excited to discover another kindred soul Ph.D. out there who was still walking the talk of a scientific evidence-based lifestyle, but also willing and able to tune into her intuition.
- Rebecca shares about the different modalities she uses in her practice, including yoga, mindfulness, nutrition, energy work, and shamanism, and why she believes taking an integrative approach is so impactful in terms of her clients’ healing and growth.
- Rebecca shares how her own health issues, including a severe car accident leaving her in chronic pain, sent her on a journey to look at alternative methods to heal. She discovered although she received helpful information from mainstream medical professionals, it wasn’t the whole picture.
- Rebecca now understands that her body was trying to communicate with her through her illnesses, and how her car accident was her final wake up call to start making significant changes in how she cared for herself and her body.
- Rebecca tells us about her “aha moment” when she read about Shamanism in the Making Your Way in a Wild New World by Martha Beck, she felt her body vibrating all over and knew she had to learn more.
- Rebecca explains how she sees her work as a shamanic practitioner as being one who walks beyond the veil and connects with her spirit guides to provide information and healing for her clients. She emphasizes that it is the guides who actually do the healing work and that she is merely a conduit.
- She shares how she works with the helping spirits to remove energies that we have picked up that are causing dis-ease physically, mentally, or emotionally.
- We discuss soul retrieval and the belief in shamanic practice that if someone experiences a challenge or trauma, the essence of a soul can go into hiding. Shamanic practitioners, like Rebecca, can help to identify and retrieve those lost parts of the soul.
- Rebecca explains to us that in ancestral work, there is a connection with the elements: fire, water, air, and earth. These elements are guides and spirits in their own sense and can help us live a more balanced life.
- We discuss how some helping and healing professionals, particularly in the mainstream medical community, come from a scarcity mindset and inadvertently treat patients in a way that can be disempowering.

Everything is energy. Even you! In this episode, we explore the magic of our own energetic vibrations, and how to raise and maintain our vibes. We discuss the common misconception that compassion means “matching” the energy of another person’s suffering. I share my favorite tools for keeping my energy clear.
- Each of us has our very own signature vibration that determines not just how we feel, but also how we experience our lives. Your vibratory pattern will change depending on what you're doing, who you're around, and what you're feeling. We also have a unique energy vibration that we contribute to the collective and the planet.
- Feelings of joy, love, and peace vibrate at a higher frequency than pain, fear, and resentment. There are no bad feelings, and we all experience the full range of emotions from time to time. The higher our vibratory set point, the better we feel and the more we connect with our true spiritual essence.
- A great way to raise your vibration is to surround yourself with a community of people who have a higher vibration. Who we choose to surround ourselves with can be a big difference in how we feel.
- Many of us have learned that it is not OK to feel good when other people are feeling down. But, you don’t need to step into someone else’s energy to have compassion. True compassion is about holding your own vibration and holding the space for others to heal in their own way and their own time.
- Spending time in nature is a natural way to raise your vibration. Man-made creations like buildings and computers vibrate near the level of thought. The natural world is of a higher vibration and much more naturally aligned with the flow of life.
- Another great way to raise your vibration, especially if you are feeling overwhelmed, is to make time to do the things that bring you joy. This is not about what you think you should do, but rather by tuning into your deeper longings. When we learn to listen to what we instinctively need, it is much easier for us to reset our energy.
- Physical movement is another way to fine-tune your vibration. Pay attention to what your body needs at the moment because it can change: Vigorous movement can be a way to help us release and let go of energy, like overwhelm. Slower movement, like walking, can feel really good and soothing in our bodies. Inspired movement, like dance, can help us tap into that sense of play to raise our vibration.
- Spending time alone as you uplevel your vibration can be very helpful. It allows you to spend time in your own energy so you can remember what your energy feels like and release that urge to merge with other people's energy. This can mean a few hours or for some people, it may be a few days to themselves.
- Remember it’s ok to stay in your own energy. Take some time to honor your own natural desire to experience your own highest vibration. It's the single best gift that you can give to yourself and to the planet.

In this episode, our guest Karen Maloney and I talk all about emotions and what it means to align with your true self.
Karen worked as an events manager for years before following her true calling as a woman's inside-out coach and energy practitioner. Karen helps clients on their awakening path to creating lasting changes from the inside out by realigning their inner compass and expanding towards their own personal truth.
- Karen shares her story of starting an inward journey as a child due to an early trauma and explains that we can put up solid walls instead of healthy boundaries as a way to protect ourselves.
- Most of us are not taught how to manage our emotions. When we ignore our feelings they don’t just go away, the emotions will linger. We need to go in, sit with our feelings, and allow them to be as they are.
- We discuss how a lot of the messages we receive from childhood and society is that success and happiness are found externally when the real magic is in going inside and discovering what truly brings you joy.
- Karen explains how suppressing our emotions and not knowing our true selves can be exhausting. Karen shares her experience of finding the courage to open the lockbox of her exiled emotions, and the lightness she felt after finally acknowledging their presence.
- Karen explains how she teaches her clients to name their emotions, experience their energy in the body, and learn to accept and become more comfortable with the full range of our emotional experiences.
- Karen shares how during an extremely challenging point in her life, she heard a voice offering her two choices: staying miserable and missing out on life or accepting the situation to move forward. Karen shares how choosing acceptance completely changed her life.

In this episode, we dive into the topic of vision boards: A fun tool you can use to set your goals and intentions for the new year or pretty much anytime! I share some do’s and don'ts of vision boarding, and how to tap into your intuition to create your best vision board, and while you are at it, your best life!
- A vision board is a visual representation of our intentions and goals, usually created from magazine images, photos and found objects that are glued to a piece of poster board or paper.
- A vision board is different from a wish list, and when we use it that way we risk unconsciously limiting ourselves to what we know and believe about what is possible.
- When we approach vision boarding intuitively, we get out of our minds and our egos, so that we can discover what will truly bring us joy, satisfy our soul and align with our highest and truest purpose.
- When creating your vision board, the trick is to let go and just see what images you are intuitively drawn to. Let go of the judgments and analysis, and just let your vision board create itself!
- Creating a vision board can be a joyful and fun experience on your own or in a group. If you choose to participate in a group, make sure you set the intention to stay in your own energy and intentions. There is no right or wrong way to create your vision board. Whatever you create should be uniquely meaningful to you!
- When we look at a vision board and it makes us feel excited and joyful, we raise our vibration. As we raise our vibration we are able to manifest and attract the things and experiences that will truly bring us joy.

Have you ever been curious about numerology?
Today on the podcast we have a special guest, Novalee Wilder who is a professional numerologist and author of A Little Bit of Numerology, Volume 21: An Introduction to Numerical Divination.
Join us as we dive into what numerology is and how you can use it to enhance your life!
- Novalee shares her experiences with intuition including realizing it wasn't about her intuition getting stronger, it was about trusting her intuition more.
- Novalee shares how she was first introduced to numerology at a challenging time in her life. After seeing drastic shifts in a friend's life after changing her name with numerology, she decided to pursue a name change herself. Novalee began to experience a lot of shifts including falling in love, getting married, and losing weight. It was so impactful, Novalee decided to learn more about numerology and now teaches it to others.
- Novalee shares with us that numerology is a spiritual tool and ancient esoteric science that works with the vibration of numbers and letters. There are two schools of thought on numerology, the Pythagorean method, and the Chaldean method.
- Novalee shares how she uses the Chaldean method, which looks at the day and year you were born. From those numbers, she sees something about your life lessons and goals, personality, inherent strengths, and drive.
- Everything holds a vibration including our names. Novalee shares why some people change names. She explains that practice is not unusual in certain cultures.
- Novalee shares how you can use numerology to get a read on anything, including the energy of the upcoming year. She offers the example of the reading she did for 2020.
- Victoria and Novalee talk about what it means when you see repeat numbers. Novalee says you can look the numbers up but she feels it's a simple way of your guides or the universe saying 'hey, I need your attention a little bit.' When this happens, try to slow down, meditate, and tune in to what your guides are saying and ask yourself why am I seeing this right now.
- Novalee does a numerous scope, which is a certain calculation where we put your names and your birthday together using Victoria as the example.

This episode focuses on the Law of Attraction: The idea that everything is energy and we create our reality by attracting people, things, and events that match our current energetic vibration. We discuss some common confusions that people have around the hows and whys of manifesting, and how we can learn to more consciously create our reality, while still flow with the deeper current of life.
- The law of attraction is an underlying principle of human existence. You are always manifesting your reality, the trick is to do it more consciously and intentionally.
- There is a critical difference between creating from the spirit and creating from the level of ego. The more we learn to manifest from our highest selves, the more rewarding, joyous, and meaningful our lives will become. (1:30)
- Some people mistakenly believe that if we create our own reality, then it must be our fault when things don’t go our way. But life is a messy and confusing process, and not everything is or should be immediately within our conscious control. As you become more consciously aware it will be easier to shift and manifest (3:02)
- We will continue to chase what we desire until we learn that beautiful gifts come from within. (5:25)
- The law of attraction teachings can be frustrating when until we come to understand manifesting is a divine and complex dance. (7:18)
- When we are manifesting, we can send out counter messages (limiting beliefs) to the universe and not realize we are doing this. This is all part of the learning journey and we have the ability to discover these limiting beliefs and heal them. (7:57)
- Focusing too much attention on our limiting beliefs can become a trap where we end up focusing on our perceived limitations and are constantly trying to “fix” ourselves. (10:28)
- The outside world is a broken mirror. When we search outside of ourselves for our sense of joy, worth, and abundance we will always come up short. The more you recognize that everything you desire already exists within you, and the universe is waiting to help you, the more you will flow your energy towards experiencing those things in the outside world. (11:26)
- Your mind knows limitations but your spirit does not operate on those principles. The more your surrender to spirit, the more she will provide. (16:21)

- Boni shares how she got to where she is today and her journey of learning and applying the law of attraction for manifesting and creating the life she desired. (1:35)
- We are creating and manifesting all the time and this can include unintentionally creating from a place of lack. (9:54)
- We discuss limiting beliefs and what key points are left out of a lot of teachings on the law of attraction. (13:20)
- Boni explains how it is normal when people first start creating to “uncreate” and put limits on things because we have underlying beliefs that say it’s not ok to ask for things. (17:52)
- Boni shares some of her techniques for identifying and working with limiting beliefs, including asking yourself “what would someone have to believe to create this” (22:21)
- We share about intuition and creating from a place of fun and joy. (24:32)
- Boni talks about paying attention to what makes you come alive then seeing if you can transfer that into other areas of your life. (32:02)

It’s not every day that you get to interview one of your mentors. In this episode, one of my first teachers, Karen Garvey, joins us for a discussion on intuition, enlightenment, and tools for navigating these chaotic times. Karen shares the incredible story of how she awakened to her intuition, and how she now serves as a conduit for universal wisdom.
Time Stamps
- Karen shares about her sudden intuitive awakening on 9/11, 2001 when she envisioned the events of the World Trade Center bombing before she had any logical way of knowing what was going on. (1:19)
- Karen explains how she discovered that intuition is not a gift reserved for just a select few, and how everyone is intuitive. Part of her mission is to help others connect with their inner wisdom. (5:04)
- Victoria and Karen talk about serving conduits when giving others guidance. (8:31)
- Karen shares the two components of enlightenment and how individual souls rarely excel at both. (13:41)
- Karen explains throughout history we experience different periods of accelerated enlightenment. When we create things that are not aligned with the positive vibration of enlightenment, it will eventually deconstruct, and this creates a lot of chaos. (18:17)
- Victoria and Karen talk about how to avoid getting caught up in the shakiness that happens during times of change and how we can be most helpful to others when we are able to stay in our own highest vibration. (21:56)
- Karen shares how her intuition works. She shares the way she experiences intuition is broader and grander than what most people experience because she chose to spend time developing it. (23:05)
- Karen leaves us with the idea that anytime you are immersed in negative emotions, to remember they are temporary and what we have been taught on earth. When you peel back the layers, you will understand that the soul really resides in joy. (28:19)

Have you ever been curious about what happens during an intuitive reading? If so, tune in as I do an intuitive reading for our guest Pam. This is the first reading I have done for the podcast and it was so much fun!
Special moments in this episode to tune in for:
- Pam shares being a little nervous but was “intuitive curious” and really wanted to experience a reading. (1:30)
- Victoria explains that this hesitation can be seen with therapy as well and that is her understanding that the guidance that comes through is what you are ready to hear. She reminds Pam it’s always important to tune in with yourself and see what resonates. (2:05)
- Victoria tunes in and is feeling lots of internal changes and shifts right now for Pam. They dive into all the shifts going on in the world along with identity shifts people feel as they become empty nesters. (5:10)
- Victoria explores a past life with Pam and explains how past lives can come up in a reading to help us understand something in this lifetime. (10:19)
- The guides give us a beautiful message that we take on a variety of human experiences in different bodies for our learning and growth, and that most of us learn best through multiple perspectives. (22:21)
- Victoria wraps up touching on intuition and Pam shares that she feels calm and enjoyed the session. (24:25)

You might have noticed that there are a lot of people talking these days, and sharing their strongly held beliefs, but not a whole lot of listening. That’s what happens when we get locked into our own belief systems so much that we cannot take a step back and recognize that different people have different perspectives.
In this episode, we explore the notion of belief systems and the ways in which our strongly held beliefs can make us go unconscious to anything beyond what reinforces our previously conceived notions of how things are and how they should be. We also discuss how our belief systems can block our inner wisdom, and greatly limit the way we understand and interact with each other and the world in general.
Episode highlights:
- We explore how we become blind to alternative realities and viewpoints if we strongly identify with a core belief system. (2:07)
- We discuss how people can get confused around letting go of beliefs because we have been taught to see things as right and wrong. When you are able to step back, you can tune into your true inner compass. (4:51)
- There are a lot of issues in the world right now where different perspectives collide and can become very polarized. Together we explore a couple of examples. (5:53)
- We look at how coming from a place of judgment and fear makes us lose touch with the idea that we are all connected. (9:40)
- Our egos like belief systems and it may feel uncomfortable as we begin to look at where we may have some blindspots. Please remember to be kind to yourself. You will discover a new way of being when you transcend those beliefs. (11:15)

In today’s episode, we explore how to work with your inner child. At some point along our journey, our inner child can be wounded if the world didn’t reflect our inner magnificence. We have the ability to connect with our inner child energy and allow for powerful healing to occur.
- Our earthly experiences can lead to confusion and distortion not allowing us to see our own magnificence. (2:11)
- We discuss the human sense of who you are versus the deeper spiritual essence. (3:42)
- We all get a little bruised on our journey, regardless of how wonderful or not our childhood experiences were. These bumps will be repeatedly triggered until we tend to those inner child needs. (4:50)
- We have the power to heal the wounded parts of ourselves. In order to do this, we must acknowledge our inner child’s feelings as they surface. (6:23)
- Sometimes your inner child throws a temper tantrum. We talk about what to do when this happens. (7:00)
- Our inner child has different needs. Sometimes the inner child is expressing pain, and other times it’s asking for more joy. (9:00)
- We need to build a relationship with our inner child and to reconnect with parts of ourselves that have been lost. It’s important to do this from a place of allowing. (9:30)
- Finally, we dive into the 3 step process for working with the energy of your inner child to heal the parts of you still lost in the human confusion. (12:13)

In this episode, I had the pleasure of speaking with Leisa Peterson, an entrepreneur, author, podcaster, coach, and self-made millionaire who inspires people around the world to create a life of prosperity. She is also the author of The Mindful Millionaire: Overcome Scarcity, Experience True Prosperity, and Create the Life You Really Want.
I had so much fun exploring the intersection between wealth and spirituality and learning about the powerful work she does helping people identify and clear their personal blocks to prosperity. I am sure you will too!
Highlights:
• Leisa shares how she experiences her intuition, and how she used to believe that the critical voice in her head was her inner guidance. She describes intuition as a connection to your true self, guided by unconditional love and support. (1:42)
• Leisa tells us about her own personal journey with money, and how she discovered that monetary success alone did not hold the key to her happiness. We also discuss how her work is so timely, as we are currently undergoing a transformation in our financial structures and personal relationships with money. (5:15)
• Leisa talks about money being a tool for personal and spiritual development, and not an indicator of self-worth. (8:11)
• Leisa shares her process of writing the book, and how she learned to move back and forth between the worlds of finance and spirituality. (4:11)
• Leisa discusses what happens when we come from a scarcity mindset and try to create prosperity from a place of lack. She explains, “when we're creating things in the world from a place of lack and scarcity, unfortunately, whether we like it or not, we arrive at that destination.” When you feel prosperous, the outside world tends to match your experience. (11:52)
• Leisa tells shares about the quiz she created that helps people identify their energetic blocks to experiencing prosperity. (15:01)
• We discuss the importance of creating a “sacred container” for doing your inner work, which is free of judgment and filled with love and self-acceptance. (32:00)

This week I had the honor of interviewing psychic medium, intuitive, reiki master, and yoga teacher Tina Conroy. Tina is the director of energy and Healing Center for wellness and Integrative Medicine in Roslyn, New York, and the host of The Intuitive Woman podcast. I had a great time learning more about Tina and her unique gifts, And I am sure you will too!
Here are some of the highlights:
• Tina talks about how her grandmother’s prophetic dreams were viewed as “bad” by her family, and how this shaped her initial feelings about her own intuitive gifts. [2:05]
• Tina tells us about her own dreams, which have always been a powerful way for her to connect with her inner knowing. She also shares how her intuition blossomed after she began practicing reiki. [5:22]
• We discuss the importance of setting clear boundaries with the spirit world and aligning with only the highest channels of intuitive energy and wisdom. Tina shares that there is some information she asks the guides not to share with her, such as medical diagnoses for her clients or information that someone is going to die, because she wants to avoid playing into her clients' fears. [7:30]
• We discuss the difference between mediumship and intuitive readings. Tina says that the two experiences feel different to her: connecting with spirits is a higher vibration than intuitively reading a client’s energy. [8:52]
• We discuss how our intuition can sometimes be very subtle and personal. The experience of tapping into your inner wisdom is different for everyone; for example, Tina is more receptive to visual information than I am, whereas I am more kinesthetic. [14:30]
• Tina explains that it is often easier to read for someone else than it is for yourself because our emotions, beliefs, and attachments can make it difficult to find neutrality when receiving information for ourselves or our loved ones. [26:10]
• Tina reminds us that intuition is available to everyone, not just a chosen few. You too can learn to tap into your inner wisdom to enrich your life, improve your relationships, make better decisions, and feel good about yourself and your life. [35:00]

In this episode we explore the art of surrender and talk about how letting go of our plans and expectations can sometimes lead to greater rewards. As an example, I share how my process of recording these podcasts has evolved over time as I have learned to be more comfortable recording without a script. I then offer some simple exercises that listeners can use to get more comfortable letting go.
Highlights:
• I once made it my mission to always be over-prepared. I would have been horrified to give a talk (or record a podcast episode!) without knowing exactly what I was going to say and how I was going to say it. But through my work as an intuitive counselor and coach, I have learned that I do my best work when I remain fully present, letting go of the script and allowing my highest wisdom and guidance to come through me. [1:05]
• Our intuition only functions in the present moment, and the present moment is always changing. The more we can learn to tune into what's happening in the now, the more effectively we can respond to what’s happening in our lives and what our intuition is trying to tell us. [3:06]
• It is natural and normal to want to plan. The trick is to be flexible and not let your plans take over your life. Think of life more like an improv than a fully scripted play: you know the characters and context, and maybe even have some ideas about the events that could unfold, but once the curtain goes up you surrender to the present moment and the process and just see what unfolds. [7:23]
• Sometimes we over-prepare due to the fear of making mistakes. We believe that if we anticipate and prepare for everything that could possibly go wrong, then we will be safe. The problem with this approach is that you cannot possibly know what the future holds, and we risk getting lost in the planning and anxiety of trying to control everything and losing track of the present moment. Mistakes are a natural and normal part of life, that we should recognize and learn from rather than spending all of our time and energy trying to avoid. [10:20]
• Your higher self has a plan for your life, but your small mind (the one that tries to make all the plans) is not always privy to that. The more we can learn to let go, and trust in this the greater plan, the easier it will be for us to fulfill our soul’s mission. [14:00]

We often hear people using the term “spiritual person” to describe someone who is committed to pursuing their own spiritual development. In this episode, we explore what it really means to be spiritual and how that label of “spiritual” can come more from the ego than from true spiritual awareness. We also discuss ways to connect most authentically to spiritual teachings.
- The term “spiritual person” is really a misnomer, because at our core we all spiritual beings in human form. Being interested in spiritual topics and teachings does make you more spiritual than anybody else. [1:10]
- The first stage of awakening is recognizing that you are more than your human personality. Often times, this burgeoning awareness can lead to an interest in spiritual teachings, but this is not always the case. [2:30]
- Sometimes we are drawn to spiritual teachings because our soul intuitively knows we need this information to support our learning and growth. However, this does not always mean that we have reached the level of awareness where we can truly apprehend and appreciate these teachings. It is possible to be attracted to something and still approach it from a place of ego. [4:05]
- All spiritual teachings must be filtered, to some degree, through the lens of our conceptual minds. Yet, our minds can never fully capture the deeper spiritual truths, and therefore our understanding of our true spiritual nature will always be limited, and subject to egoic interference. [3:35]
- The best way to approach spiritual teachings is with a soft mind. Allow yourself to notice where your attention is drawn and what resonates with your entire being, rather than trying to compare, contrast, and pin down all the minute details. [8:57]
- When you have a true spiritual awakening or a spiritual experience, it's not something that you can explain. It's not something you can force. It's not something you can do. It's something that simply arises. The more that we can treat spiritual teachings (and life itself) from that place of not knowing, the more we will move towards our own spiritual enlightenment. In this episode, Michelle shares about how she draws on her experience of reality creation, metaphysics, medical intuition, dowsing and frequency to assist people with transformation on all levels – physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. You are in for a real treat!
Some highlights:
- Michelle shares about her journey navigating her children’s chronic illnesses, and how this helped her to awaken her gifts as a medical intuitive. [2:00]
- We discuss the value of raising our children with an understanding and openness to intuition. Michelle tells us how her mother helped her to nurture her intuitive gifts as a child. [8:50]
- Michelle shares about her company, Healers Who Share, and how they make “frequency waters” to clear physical, mental and emotional illnesses, and imbalances. [10:20]
- We discuss the importance of exploring our subconscious belief systems in healing our bodies and improving our lives.

As a recovering perfectionist, I can tell you that trying to be perfect is the most sure-fire way to suck the joy out of your life. In this episode, we explore the perils of perfectionism from a more spiritual perspective. I explain how it develops, share some steps we can take to free ourselves from this unhealthy mindset, and recount a personal story regarding my own journey with perfectionism.
Some key points:
• Spiritually speaking, you are already perfect: your perfect nature was given to you at birth and will be there when you die. Nothing you do here on earth could ever change that. Still, many of us spend our whole lives chasing external ideas of perfection, not realizing that we are already perfect as we are. [4:48]
• On a human level, nothing is perfect, and nothing is supposed to be. Striving for perfection on a physical level will always leave us wanting. Earth is an imperfect realm; when our souls agree to spend time on earth, we fully recognize that there will be some distortion of our true spiritual nature. [5:30]
• What most of us think of as “perfect” has more to do with what we have been taught than with the truth of our own inner divinity. What the mind thinks is perfect is based on our social conditioning and what we have learned is good and bad, not what is uniquely right for us. [6:29]
• Many of us develop this desire to be perfect during childhood. We learn this from watching the adults around us, who have already learned that they are not good enough. They show us through their words, actions, and example that we too are lacking. We fall victim to perfectionism when we mistakenly believe this that being “perfect” in their eyes will earn the care and acceptance that we so deeply desire. [8:35]
• Part of healing from perfectionism is allowing for life to be inherently messy. Sometimes things go the way our mind envisions, but more often they do not — remember that when things don’t go the way you think they should, it does not mean that you are any less worthy. It simply means that life has a different plan for you right now. [9:28]

We often hear the term “old soul” to describe someone, often a child, whose wisdom and grace seem to go beyond their age and life experience. In this episode, we talk about what it means to be an old soul and the idea of “soul age” in general. We also discuss some of the special challenges that older souls face and why older souls are so important right now to the collective growth of humanity.
- Soul age comes from the idea that we are all spiritual beings in physical form and that we experience multiple incarnations on earth as part of our soul’s learning and growth. Old souls are those who have experienced many different lifetimes on earth. [1:00]
- Old souls are not better than younger souls. All souls are equally valuable. Just like you wouldn’t say, a twenty-two-year-old is better than a four-year-old. They are just at different stages of development and, as a result, have different needs, goals, and experiences. [7:40]
- Old souls can sometimes feel alone, isolated, and misunderstood because they are at a different point in their development than most other human beings on earth at this time. [7:51]
- You can’t necessarily tell someone’s soul age based on how things go in their outside lives. It is not necessarily the case that older souls have easier or more accomplished lives than younger ones because what is considered desirable on the human level may or may not be advantageous to your soul’s growth and development. [8:44]
- An old soul often has an innate desire to be kind to others, create harmony, and not participate in unnecessary dramas. Older souls do best when they follow their own, internal moral compass, and don’t get overly hung up in the dogma of what other people think is a good idea. [2:15]
- Old souls have come to this planet with many gifts to share. The more they can connect with their own authentic selves and express their highest truth, the more they can be of service to humanity. [7:20]

Our society is so focused on the mind that many of us have lost touch with the magic of our bodies. This is especially true for women, whose bodily concerns have often been dismissed or misunderstood by the male-dominated, left-brained medical establishment. In this episode, our special guest Heather Strauch invites us to explore the magic and wisdom of the female body.
Heather is a Physical Therapist, pelvic floor specialist, and founder of A Different Approach to Physical Therapy in Norwalk, Connecticut. Where she draws on her training in physical therapy and her intuition to help patients rediscover the magic of their own physical forms.
Key Points:
• We discuss how Heather combines her training in physical therapy and extensive knowledge of anatomy with her intuition. A lot of conventional therapy focuses on listening; Heather explains that “we can listen with our ears, but we can also listen with our hands.” She loves that her work always feels playful and enjoys learning along with her patients about what is going on with their bodies. [5:30]
• Heather shares how her intuition speaks to her when working with patients, not just through her hands, but also on that first contact when they are sharing their story and she receives “downloads” on what is going on with their body. [9:50]
• We discuss how trauma is often stored in the body as aches and pains, and how bodywork can be so essential to releasing the hold of these traumatic experiences and returning our bodies to a healthier state. [2:55]
• Heather talks about the importance of being respectful of the body, and not trying to force anything. She gives the example of a file drawer, and the advantage of coaxing it open gently rather than forcing and risking breaking it. [8:26]
• We discussed the importance of boundaries when doing hands-on healing work, especially as an empath. Heather attributes her strong boundaries to practices like yoga and meditation that help her stay grounded, and the experience of unconditional love she had as a child. She is also “clear that we are all individual souls and there is oneness in our energy, but who we are in human form is very protected and sacred to me.” [11:17]
• Heather shares her personal experience with her birth of her first child when the doctors told her he had a fatal condition. She meditated and had a conversation with her son’s spirit, who told her everything was ok. This gave her the courage to trust her intuition even more and become even more caring and patient-centered in her practice. [17:32]

In this episode, we tackle the topic of spiritual awakening and what it means to be spiritually “awake.” So often in spiritual literature, a concept emerges that quickly becomes fodder for our egoic minds, and the notion of spiritual awakening is no exception. This episode explores what it means to awaken as a spirit in physical form, and how we can discern between what is true inspiration from more egoic interpretations of spiritual awakening.
Some Key Points:
· The experience of awakening is unique to each of us. When listening to this episode (and all spiritual teachings), it is important to listen with a soft mind and allow your intuition to guide you towards the information that most resonates with you. Your “truth” is always for you alone. [2:14]
· The term “awake” can be used in a judgmental way to distinguish between those we think are more spiritually worthy than those who are not. However, we are all inherently worthy, and our worth has absolutely nothing to do with where we are on our personal and spiritual path. [10:45]
· As we move forward on our awakening path, it is normal and natural to want to surround ourselves as much as possible with others who are at the same or higher level of spiritual development. But that doesn’t mean that people who are at a different level are lesser than or wrong; it just means they are at a different place. And because there is always, at the deepest level, perfect synchronicity, everyone is exactly where they need to be. [4:44]
· Most people are not aware that they are more than their human personality. The first step in awakening is becoming aware of your true spiritual nature. Once we recognize, even just intellectually, that we are spirits in physical form, we pave the way to release the holds of the ego and align more with our higher selves and deeper process of life. [1:10]
· Awakening is a path or a process and not necessarily a discrete event. No two souls are alike, and so the process of awakening will be different for each of us. Some spiritual teachers like Eckhart Tolle and Byron Katie, talk about having profound moments where they awake. But it does not always happen this way. And we often experience multiple levels of awakening. [7:05]
· The “dark night of the soul” is when things in our outer lives break down, to point us back to our own inner magnificence. In these instances, crisis becomes an opportunity to bring in a greater level of spiritual awareness. As we awaken, we begin to recognize that life is happening for us, not to us and that the crises in the outside world are merely opportunities for growth. [10:45]
· The path to awakening means that we experience our own divine nature, more and more, while in physical form. It means that we appreciate and connect with the deeper flow of life and identify less with our human personality and more with our true spiritual selves. [1:30]

- Jen graciously allowed me to share some information that was coming through for her about her past life experiences with reiki and being a spiritual oracle in ancient Peru. [17:10]
- We discuss how to handle transitions in your life and career as you continue to grow in your own spiritual development and the importance of letting go of attachments to other people’s expectations and outmoded ways of doing things. [25:59]
- Jen tells us about the importance of practicing spiritual surrender, and the value making the choice to align with the process of life and “let the universe do its thing.” [25:45]
- Jen shared how she gets her intuitive guidance through visions, songs (hence the title “singing medium”), and Disney movies! [29:33]
- Jen offers some intuitive insights into what the rest of 2020 may have in store for us. [29:10]

If you spend any time in the personal development or spiritual community, you have already heard about the power of gratitude. Practicing gratitude is one of the best ways to raise your energetic vibration and improve your life. In this episode, we discuss the do’s and don’t’s of practicing gratitude. We end with a meditation to help you to cultivate this beautiful energy.
- There is a lot of research on the power of practicing gratitude. Gratitude enhances our overall sense of wellbeing and trains your brain to focus on positive experiences, overriding the brain’s natural bias towards negativity. [1:52]
- Everything is energy, including our thoughts and emotions. Different thoughts and emotions vibrate at different rates and the higher the vibration the closer you are to your true spiritual state. Most of us have an energetic or an emotional set point that we are used to going to and our society as a whole tends to vibe low. There are a lot of people out there who are used to being stressed, afraid, and generally unhappy. The energy of gratitude is most closely aligned with your higher self. [2:52]
- The best way to shift your energy is not to resist what you are feeling, but to focus on what you would like to feel instead. Gratitude is a quick and easy way of shifting your focus toward whatever is bringing you joy in the present moment. [3:45]
- You can practice gratitude in the moment, like when you are feeling down about the weather and notice how grateful you are for this warm cup of tea. But you can also make gratitude a daily practice to get into the habit of vibing at a higher level. [5:42]
- A great time to practice gratitude is first thing in the morning before you get out of bed. Take a few moments to bring to mind some things you are grateful for. This will set your energy for the rest of the day. Another great time to practice is before bedtime. Taking time to reflect on all the things that went well during the day is a great way to set the stage for pleasant dreams and a restful sleep. [5:57]
- If you have trouble finding things to be grateful for, it is OK to start small. Small things count as much as bigger ones: that first cup sip of coffee in the morning, the feeling of the breeze on a sultry hot day, the fact that your cat waited a few extra minutes before waking you up this morning. Wherever you can find gratitude is the perfect place to begin. [7:05]
- Gratitude is not about what you think you should be grateful for, but rather what authentically brings you joy. There are no “shoulds” when it comes to experiencing gratitude. You don’t have to be grateful and you don’t even have to feel good when you don’t want to. Gratitude is just something that helps you boost your vibration when you want it and when you need it because you can always find something to be grateful for. [11:25]

There is a lot of talk in the spiritual community about the importance of ‘speaking your truth’. Speaking your truth is about honoring what is right for you without letting yourself get hung up on what other people think. It is not about proving that you are right or convincing someone else that they are wrong, but rather about tuning into your inner wisdom and rejecting the superfluous chatter of your ego. In this episode, we explore what it means to speak your truth and how to tell the difference between your own authentic wisdom and the voice of your ego.
Key Points:
- Speaking your truth is about honoring your own perspective and allowing the deeper wisdom of your soul to guide your self-expression. [2:10]
- Speaking your truth is something you do for yourself; it does not matter if other people share your perspective. [4:30]
- Speaking from your ego, on the other hand, is when you believe that your perspective is only valid if other people share it, or if you can convince everyone that you’re right. Whenever you feel strongly that other people need to share your perspective, you are likely acting from your ego and not from your highest self. [5:00]
- This egoistic “truth” usually involves judgment and shame: you believe something is wrong with the other person because they do not share your beliefs, or that something is wrong with you when other people have different opinions. [6:00]
- Sometimes speaking your truth means giving voice to your pains and confusions. You need to bear witness to all parts of yourself, and not just the one that fit your mental picture of how you “should” be. [7:10]
- It is not necessary to share your pain stories with those who have hurt you. Simply bearing witness to our own pains and perspectives is often enough to free ourselves from their weight. [11:35]
- The real truth is deeper than the stories we tell ourselves about who is right and who is wrong. Sometimes we need to work through and process these stories to allow all of our feelings to seen and acknowledged — but upon deeper reflection, we often naturally discover that they do not represent the deeper truth of who we really are. [11:55]

Beth Leas is the founder of Tribe TLC, a vibrant community of holistic practitioners and wellness entrepreneurs. She has been offering transformative healing experiences for over 30 years and is passionate about supporting others in awakening their inner healer and learning to live life well. During our discussion, Beth describes her journey as a transformational healing practitioner, the many tools that she uses in her practice, and what she considers to be the most powerful part of her work.
Key points:
- Beth describes herself as a cosmic cheerleader, raising the vibe of our planet by working as a 1-to-1 energy healing practitioner and helping other spiritually-minded entrepreneurs build their businesses. [3:50]
- Beth shares some of the tools she uses to support clients, including Reiki, Tarot, and meditation, and tells us how her practice has evolved over the past three decades. [5:30]
- Beth jokes that she “gets paid to do nothing,” since the work of a healer is really about holding the space for clients to remember who they really are and connect with their own inner resources. [9:44]
- We discuss the importance and the challenge of letting go of our attachment to outcomes when working as a healing practitioner. The client is 100% responsible for their own healing; our job is to be patient and trust the process. [10:25]
- Beth explains how energy healing works by raising your energetic vibration. She offers the analogy of an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner where “you just shake all that stuff up and all the dirt and gunk and grime that is covering the brilliant diamond that you are just falls away.” [8:01]
- Beth discusses how she connects with her intuition through meditating, and how discovering meditation when she was 15 years old changed her life. [6:13]
- Beth shares how she uses Tarot as a tool for transformation, and to help clients tap into their own inner wisdom, rather than for trying to predict the future. [17:30]
- We discuss how there are no “bad” tarot cards: as Beth explains, “just like [things in our life] are not good or bad, they just are. It all depends on how you look at things.” [5:10]

We often think of intuition as something that happens within us, but our guidance also communicates to us through signs in the outside world. In this episode, we will explore common spirit signs such as angel numbers and animal messengers. We will learn what spirit signs are, how they work, and also some of the obstacles and pitfalls we might run into when we work with signs.
Key points to tune in for:
- The first step to working with signs is to start paying attention: the more we open ourselves up to receiving messages from the universe, the more they will appear to us. [3:35]
- Virtually anything can be a sign from spirit, and our guides know how to work within our belief systems to deliver messages in a way they will be best received. Some common examples of signs are seeing repeating number sequences like 1111, animal visitations (like the time we saw a pig walking up to our suburban driveway!), and words or passages that unexpectedly grab your attention in a magazine or book, or in songs playing in the background. [6:24]
- One of my favorite ways to open myself up to signs while I mull over a question is to go on a spiritual scavenger hunt, where I let my mind go blank and just see where my attention is naturally drawn to in my environment. This works especially well in natural settings. [8:57]
- One way to know if something is really a sign is to look for patterns: your spirit will keep giving you the same message until you get the memo. Personally, whenever I get the same message three times, I know it is not a coincidence and that I need to take note. [14:18]
- The best way to interpret signs is to use your intuition. There are a number of ways to do this: for instance, you can meditate on the sign and see what comes to you, or look up the meaning of the sign in a book or on the internet and see which interpretations feel right and true to you. [15:13]
- When we work with signs, we need to take care not to overanalyze our experiences or look to signs to confirm our fears (?), and to avoid patterns of paranoid or magical thinking. [19:03]
- Signs, like all forms of spiritual guidance, always come from a place of love and not fear; our guides do not intend to scare us, but rather to gently get our attention through signs and synchronicities. [21:21]

Our true purpose arises when we connect with our inner wisdom and align with our higher selves. -Victoria Shaw
In these chaotic times, many of us are asking ourselves one critical question: what is my purpose? This episode explores what it means to be of service in the world and how we can tap into our own inner wisdom and awaken to our own higher purpose. We also discuss some of the different ways souls are called onto this earth to serve others, and how service is always a choice and not the same thing as sacrifice.
- Your primary purpose, as a spirit in physical form, is to live your life with increased levels of joy and awareness and rediscover your own inner divinity while in human form.
- Your mind alone cannot give you information about your true purpose, because your mind is saddled with a lifetime of social conditioning that just tells you what you think should be your purpose.
- Your purpose can change throughout your lifespan: purpose is just what is true and right for you in the present moment.
- Purpose is not always something you do; rather, it is primarily a way of being. When we are aligned with our highest selves while in physical form, we are most deeply embodying our purpose.
- Purpose does not have to be a big thing. It can be very subtle. The barista at your favorite coffee bar can literally touch thousands of lives. You can also make a huge impact through a series of seemingly small gestures.
- Because we are all connected, when you work through your own life challenges, you pave the way for others facing similar struggles.
One of the best ways to align with your spirit is to awaken your intuition. Check out, my self-paced, online course, Activating Your Intuition, to learn how to tap into your own inner wisdom: https://victoriashawintuitive.com/courses/activating-your-intuition/

The pandemic that has swept across the globe and has kept many of us in our homes for almost three months, has also given us a unique opportunity to look inside - literally - and become more in tune with ourselves.
This episode explores the delicate balance between being and doing, and how we can all benefit from powering down and becoming one with the present moment. We close with a brief mediation that you can practice anytime you would like to feel more grounded and present.
Key points:
- Our society is very action-oriented and does not teach us about the power of presence.
- Without the proper balance between being and doing, we might find that our actions feel driven and hollow, without deeper meaning.
- Truly inspired action always comes from a place of being: the more we can still our bodies and minds, the more we can connect with our true spiritual essence and begin to act from a more divinely-inspired place.
- Those of us who have experienced trauma can sometimes have more difficulty sitting with ourselves and our feelings and becoming more present. It is important to be kind and gentle with yourself and to know that learning to be more present is a process that should not be forced.
- Meditation can be a great tool for cultivating presence; however, if we are not mindful, meditation can easily become just another thing that we believe we must master and accomplish. This can actually take us away from the intended purpose of meditating.
We end this episode with a brief meditation to help you connect with that pure state of being whenever you feel called to.

Global strategist and former biophysicist, ZofiaRennea Morales, had it all, a high powered career, loving husband, properties, adventure, friends. Until her fast-paced life screeched to a halt. Brought to the edge of death, Zofia was left bankrupt in every area of her life. In this episode, Zofia shares her journey from “muggle to mystic,” and how it took a complete life collapse for her to finally get out of her own way and tune into the call of her soul.
Episode highlights:
- Zofia tells us about her upbringing and how she was taught that anything out of the mainstream—intuition, psychic experience, energy healing—was “of the devil”, and how this led her to bury her intuitive gifts as a child until she, like many of us, completely forgot about them.
- We discuss muscle testing, and Zofia shares how that was the one “woo woo” tool that she accepted with her scientist’s mind because it was concrete and replicable.
- Zofia shares about her “dark night of the soul,” when she finally broke down and asked God for help, and how after that night everything changed for her and the path to her healing began to unfold.
- She shares about her sudden spiritual activation and how she became overwhelmed by the sudden onset of psychic experience and feared that she was losing her mind.
- We discuss the importance of getting in touch with our emotions and how buried emotions can wreck havoc on our physical, mental, and emotional health.
- We learn more about what it means to have a “heart wall,” and why Zofia believes that most highly sensitive and intuitive souls develop heart walls over the course of their lives, and how to use Emotion code techniques to release them.
- Zofia shares a profound experience where she first realized that she was a gifted energy healer, and some of the tools and techniques she uses to support her clients on their own healing journeys.

Are you looking for your soul mate: that perfect romantic partner who will finally make you feel whole, and complete your life?
The popular myth about soul-based relationships does not tell the whole truth. In this episode, we discuss some common misconceptions about what it means to be someone’s soul mate and explore the deeper meaning of our connections to other souls.
- The popular myth is that soul mates are a perfect person outside of us who will ‘fix’ us and make us whole. The problem with this idea is that we are already whole and complete, and the best that another person can do is serve as a mirror to your own inner beauty and magnificence.
- We are all spiritual beings in human form; soul mates are people with whom we have a deep spiritual connection, or that our higher self has planned for us to meet during this incarnation.
- Relationships between soul mates are not necessarily romantic relationships. Soul mates can also be friends, family members, teachers, colleagues, or even more distant relationships.
- Sometimes we spend our entire lifetime with a soul mate, and other times they cross our paths for a more limited period of time. Just crossing paths with a soul mate for an instant can be a transformative experience
- Not all soul mate relationships feel joyous and magical. Soul mate relationships can also be challenging! Sometimes we are drawn to a particular soul because the relationship is here to give us an important lesson, or balance karma from a past lifetime.
- The relationships we have with one another as spirits are not always the same in our human relationships — some of us would be very surprised to discover who are soul mates are and who they are not!
- Our spirits often travel to earth in groups who have reincarnated together over multiple lifetimes. These souls are usually on the same level of spiritual development and are usually working on similar lessons.

When I first awakened my intuition, I had some experiences that led me to question my world view and sometimes even my sanity. This episode explores the difference between psychic experience and psychosis, and how we can discern between these two very different experiences. We also discuss the experience of spiritual crisis, that some people experience on the road to their spiritual awakening, and how everyday intuition can impact mental and emotional health when we become overwhelmed by the information coming in and/or tune into the wrong channels.
Highlights in this episode:
- Our intuitive experiences can run the gambit between simple gut feelings and full-on psychic experience. At times these experiences can lead us to question whether we might be losing touch with reality.
- My basic rule of thumb: If the messages you receive and the experiences that you have are improving the quality of your life in a real and measurable way, then they are most likely your intuitive knowing and not a mental illness.
- Mental illness is when we lose touch with consensual reality and/or cannot integrate or make sense of our intuitive experiences and can no longer function effectively in the world.
- Spiritual Crisis can sometimes occur as part of a spiritual awakening when our old way of thinking is breaking down to lead to us to a new, and broader spiritual awareness. For some people, this can look like depression, anxiety, or even psychosis.
- Some people are “too intuitive.” Their intuitive radars are turned up too high and/or tuned into the wrong channels. In these cases, it is important to learn how to use your intuitive gifts more intentionally to avoid "intuitive overload."

Intuitive empaths are old souls, with open and compassionate hearts, who can literally feel the pain of others as their own. Empaths are beautiful and loving souls who are here to be of service during this intense period of growth and change. But to serve, empaths must learn how to harness their beautiful gifts and to honor themselves and their paths, by setting clear and loving boundaries with others.
In this episode we learn:
- What makes someone an empath and how are we being called to serve at this time of human development.
- Tools and strategies for staying safe, calm, and centered when the world seems to be going insane setting boundaries with others, and why there is absolutely no value in taking on other people's pain.
- How to set clear and appropriate boundaries with EVERYONE in our lives, as well as with the energy of the world in general.
- Three questions to ask yourself when you experience others in need and are wondering how to intervene.
- Why the best way to heal the world is to take care of ourselves!

In this episode, we welcome Mica DeSantis who shares about her unique work as an intuitive conception catalyst and healer. This interview was so much fun and I really enjoyed learning more about how Mica supports women on their conception journeys. I also loved hearing her story of how she came to recognize her unique gifts as a healer and helper. Mica also works with men women and children helping them to create any kind of Life redesign and healing through her energy work and what she calls, Soul Coaching.
Here are some highlights:
- Mica tells us about her unique way of helping women to conceive and how she connects her clients with their “soul babies.”
- We learn what a soul baby is, and how Mica introduces and connects her clients with their soul babies through channelled poetry.
- Mica shares how she has had these gifts since she was a baby, and how it took her years to connect with and fully awaken her unique healing gifts.
- Mica shares how she can work with highly intuitive and empathic children and teens to help them learn to regulate and manage their own intuition and energy.
- Mica teaches listeners how to protect their energy from the negative thoughts and ideas of others, especially medical professionals, who may inadvertently communicate fear-based programming about the conception journey.
- We discuss the importance of learning to be present and still and releasing attachments to outcomes.

“Joy is your natural spiritual state and your birthright.”
Most of us want to be happy and experience more joy in our lives, but few of us actually know how to tap into our own naturally joyous state. Following our joy is the path to a more meaningful life because the things that bring us a deep sense of joy also keep us more closely aligned with the call of our soul. Learning to follow our joy will help us live the life that our soul intended for us.
In this episode, we learn the how’s and why’s of following our joy, so that we can experience a deeper sense of enjoyment, ease, magic, and meaning in our life.
Highlights:
- Why many of us have learned to block our own happiness, and how to reconnect with our inner joy.
- Why the “work now, play later” approach to life rarely helps us find true happiness.
- How to discern what truly brings you joy from the mind chatter that tells you what “should” make you happy.
- Why our happiness is not dependent on what is going on in the outside world
- How joy is the best fuel for productivity
- How living in joy attracts more joyful experiences into our lives
- Why living in joy is one of the greatest gifts we can bring to the world!

In this episode we learn about our spiritual support team, and the guidance that we have available to us on our human journey. Personally, connecting with my spirit guides, has helped me feel more loved and supported, and provided a wealth of information for myself and my clients. This is your chance to learn more about how to connect with your own spiritual guidance.
- We are all spiritual beings in physical form. When we come into our human bodies, we forget much of the wisdom of our souls. Our spirit guides serve to keep up that connection to our highest selves.
- Spirit guides are highly evolved beings that exist in non-physical form. Some of our guides have lived before in physical bodies and others have not. But they are all drawn to us because they have their own special gifts to share.
- Our guides can connect with us in many different ways, and they are working for us even when we are not aware of their presence.
- We each have at least one guide that is assigned to guide us from birth into death. We also have other guides that may come and go depending on our needs at various stages of our lives.
- Guides can also be more well-known figures like archangels, saints, Gods and Goddesses, but these are not typically our primary spirit guides.
- Guides can assist us with all sorts of things, like writing a book or decorating your home. There are spirit guides that specialize in all sorts of tasks, who are drawn to us when our intention is clear, and we ask for their support.
- Guides are not typically our deceased loved ones. Though our loved ones do watch over us and may occasionally provide guidance as needed.
- Our souls have free will, which means that our guides can advise and support us, but they cannot do the work for us.

In this episode, we discuss ways to cope with fear in our personal lives and as it arises across the planet. I share my own process of coping with the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as the messages that are coming through and how we can all hold and support ourselves through these difficult experiences. We also discuss the ways in which we can use our intuition to guide us and support us when we are experiencing fearful moments.
Key Points:
- At its best, fear is an instinctual response that can be useful to get our attention when there is an immediate threat to our safety. Fear keeps us safe in the present moment, but not over the long term.
- For most humans, fear becomes a mind game. We create stories in our head about the things that could go wrong or went wrong in the past, and we lose our awareness and connection to the present moment.
- Fear does not protect us from harm. It makes us miserable imagining all the terrible things that could go wrong!
- Tapping into your intuition can help you to make informed choices, without getting swept up in panic and fear.
- Fear comes from the misguided belief that we must control the process of life to keep ourselves safe. True safety and security comes from being present and surrendering to the flow of life.
- Fear pulls us away from our authentic selves and our own true inner wisdom.
- Resisting or judging our fears is not the solution. The goal is to become present with your experiences and to create space between your true self and the fearful thoughts.
- The more we can be present and connect to our higher wisdom during times of intense fear and crisis, the more we can transform and transmute these fearful energies for ourselves and our communities - globally.

In this episode, I share what I have learned about reincarnation through my spiritual guidance and work reading past lifetimes for many clients. My personal belief in reincarnation has shifted my perspective on death and allowed me to fully connect with the fact that though this personality will die, my soul is eternal. Following this perspective can help us connect with the deeper purpose of our human experience.
Here are some highlights:
- We are all spiritual beings, temporarily having a series of human experiences for our own learning and growth. Through reincarnation, our spirits take on different personalities and perspectives so that we can learn, grow, and eventually find our way back to our true spiritual essence.
- When we come into our human forms, we typically forget our spiritual origins.
- Some people spontaneously remember their past lives. This can occur during hypnosis, the dream state, or when experiencing flashes of intuitive insight. Some professional psychics and intuitive healers also have the ability to see past lives on their client’s behalf.
- Our highest selves and spirit guides plan our lifetimes for our own learning and growth. Our soul has free will, so we are free to change the plan at any time, but we usually don’t unless it serves our highest purpose. The struggles in our lives are often pre-planned to support our soul growth and mission; this is what it means to say that things happen for us and not to us.
- Karma is not punishment. It is a spirit’s way of balancing your experiences so that your soul can experience life from many different perspectives.
- Earth is going through a huge transformation right now, which means there is a great potential for many people on earth to experience a spiritual awakening. Many of you who are listening to this podcast today or podcast like it are part of that process.

In this episode we talk about our namesake topic, intuition, and how we can learn to connect with and trust our own inner wisdom. Many people come to me wanting to learn how to awaken their intuition and trust in their own inner guidance. If you have ever wondered about the power and potential pitfalls of trusting your intuition, then this episode is for you!
Here are some of the highlights:
- Your intuition is your spiritual GPS system: at your core, you are a spiritual being, temporarily having a human experience for your own learning, growth and enjoyment. Intuition connects you back to your latent spiritual wisdom.
- Everyone is intuitive because we are all spiritual beings. Most of us lose touch with our intuitive knowing because we live in a society that places more value on our conceptual, thinking minds and does not provide a framework for understanding our intuition.
- Intuition works best when we are able to still our thinking mind and be fully present with ourselves and our experiences. Mental noise often blocks and distorts our intuition.
- Unlike thought, the voice of our intuition is usually very calm and clear, and without a strong emotional charge.
- Sometimes our unconscious biases and learned associations can look like our intuition. For example, you may have an off feeling about someone who reminds you of a kid who bullied you in middle school. It is important to be aware of these biases, and not to confuse them with our true intuitive knowing.
- Intuition is different from wishful thinking. People sometimes confuse their intuition with what they would like to see happen. Intuition works best when we do not have a strong attachment to outcomes.
- Our intuition is never wrong, however our minds can misinterpret our intuitive wisdom.

In this episode we focus on our namesake topic, intuition. Developing my intuition has been an absolute game changer in my life and it can be the same for you! This episode explains what intuition is and what it is not, the different ways in which we can experience our intuition, as well as some common misconceptions about our intuitive knowing. Most importantly, this episode addresses how we can use our inner wisdom to enhance all aspects of our lives.
Some of the key points:
- Intuition is your spiritual GPS and the connection to your higher self.
- Intuition is different from your thinking mind: we are born with our intuitive knowing, but the mind is something that is developed through our social conditioning and human development.
- Everybody is intuitive, because we are all spiritual beings in human form.
- Our intuition is working all the time; we are just not always paying attention. Our intuition works best when we are aware of, and open to it.
- Intuition presents itself in many ways, and is often very subtle.
- The key to connecting with your inner wisdom is to still the mind. A busy mind will block your intuition.
- Intuition can help us find meaning and purpose in our life’s struggles and know how to navigate any challenges that arise with more ease and grace.
- Tapping into your intuition is an important step in your own spiritual awakening. The more you connect with your inner wisdom the more you will be guided to move forward on the path that your soul intended for you.
