S1EP2 Ending Sexual Violence: Child Sexual Abuse

Report
In this episode, my guest speaker and I have a candid conversation about the prevalence of childhood sexual abuse and why it is normalized and trivialized in some African societies. We highlight how consent does not apply to minors, and how children cannot consent to intercourse regardless of what they say or do. Children can be at risk of sexual abuse by those close to them including a parent, caregiver,  relatives and/or family member friends. If you are a victim of sexual abuse, please remember that sexual abuse is NOT your fault. Reach out to someone you trust to seek help. Always remember that abuse and violence thrives in the midst of silence. If you see or hear something, please say something. Saying something can save a life.
