In our digitally-blended-decade of the 2020's, the delineation between IRL & URL is truly blurred. From unbelievable XR, to heart-racing interactive stories, to metaverses of millions, when near anything imaginable is technologically possible, how do we continue to imagine, invent and extend our new realities? With cleverly designed digital experiences, from physical spaces built for mixed reality, data-driven personalisation, to voice-based conversational interfaces, our everyday realities are blurry and blended— making way for our storyworlds to be too. Christina Gerakiteys speaks with Jessie Hughes, an internationally-recognised Australian new media artist and technologist. She has been named one of Australia’s Future Changers for her commitment to using digital innovation for positive social impact, and was named a 2020 Sir General John Monash Scholar. Hughes has designed and implemented solutions for tech-giants such as Oculus, Facebook, and Adobe, and has been featured in over 80+ media articles in radio, newspaper and TV. She is a Winston Churchill Fellow, Lord Mayor’s Young and Emerging Artist Fellow and a UN Sustainable Development Goals Innovation Talent. Professionally, Jessie works as a Creative Technologist for Josephmark, toying at the cross-intersection of design, technology, art, research and strategy for social innovation. This episode will prepare, scare and excite those in the storytelling, media and entertainment sphere to the expanding and unfolding future of entertainment technologies. What's real, what's not, and do we really need to know the difference? Show Notes:  Connect with Jessie Hughes Connect with Josephmark
