This interactive session is designed to help everyone involved communicate more openly, honestly, and effectively — together. People living with metastatic breast cancer and their caregivers often struggle with the same challenges: wanting to protect each other from worry, not knowing how to bring up difficult topics, and trying to balance hope with realistic expectations. This session explores what gets in the way of good communication, from fear and uncertainty to role changes and emotional overload. About the speaker Celeste Vaughan-Briggs, LCSW, has more than 25 years of social work experience and now serves as manager of the Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program at Thomas Jefferson University’s Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center in Philadelphia. The program serves several hundred women with diverse backgrounds each year from across the greater Philadelphia area. Ms. Vaughan-Briggs provides vital navigation and psychosocial support to these women and men throughout their course of treatment.
